I believe the hard pencil of h or 2h and up will probably tear when writing with slow hard strokes like a child usually do. When you use fountain pens with the doodler inks it will not bleed and that is very good for this inexpensive paper. It is a nemesis for calligraphers if the paper bleeds after you put down the strokes in ink (even some of the thick expensive paper will bleed with ink if you happen to buy the wrong paper for calligraphy).
